Default Headers!

Iam looking for a new set of unequal shorty headers for my 87 GT, What brand will help me make the most power and torque and also last a long time, i would like to get a set of ceramic coated ones. Are they worth the extra shine? and how long does it take before the coating tarnishes? I will be using afr heads, and if i am not mistaken the exhaust ports are in stock locations, Thanks

Ceramic is nice for looks and the heat factor, i wouldnt ever get chromed if your going to do that spend the extra 100 and get something that wont change color over time. That being said im cheap and dont care bout looks so i got summit shorties.

1 5/8 is better, Mac will work fine, only thing ive heard is after you remove em sometimes there a pain whe nyou put back on because they warp since the flange isnt tied all together and you get problems with header leak, but i never personally experienced this with a set of mac shorties i had.

Go w/ the ceramic coated BBK's. You'll be glad you did.

My suggestion would be to not even bother with shortys, buy LT's no point bothering with shortys imo.

all headers will twist and do all kinds of things over a period of time being off of a car..and i would go with ceramics also if your worried about longevity of finish

and i would also wantknow why not to bother with shortys and just go long tubes????
