Prob a dumb question but where is it hooked up now? My initial thought would be to tie in to the starter relay, not really a hot in run connection but would have power for certain and fan should only run when needed by temp sensor and relay.

thats actually where i have it now. i did however put a wire directly from the battery to the fan and she does turn on and i have the thermostat probe as close to the coolant inlet at the bottom of the rad as you can get and she just doesnt turn on. never got about 195 but thats because when i rebuilt my top end the autozone guy grabbed the wrong one. im going to switch it out today most likely.

as dillion1340 said i think im going to try that if possible.
