fix for dreaded ashtray cover door ?

fix for dreaded ashtray cover door ?

What's the best fix for the ashtray cover door ? I think the spring fell down into the console. I don't use it but I would like it to stay closed.

You need to remove the console cover to access it. If you are lucky like I was, the spring just fell off. If the tab is broken, www50resto.com has a repair kit.

ITworks great, and once I installed it, the ashtray door has worked perfectly for 4 years!

cjponyparts.com has a repair kit just for the ashtray..its not really that expensive either

i thought 50resto was the only ones w/ it... but obviously i was wrong...i'm sure any of the 3 mentioned are fine.

Actually, 50 resto, and cj pony parts, buy their kits from mavromont who is the manufacture and the only one I know of who makes that repair kit.

[sm=funnypostabove.gif]I dont think i have ever owned a fox mustang that actually had a working ash tray door. i used the rpair kit from cj ponys in my car it work very good!
