It depends on what tooling that you have available and your mechanical ability. It will take a novice about 6 to 8 hours and a lot of patience. Are you installing a new clutch assembly (clutch plate, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing. Do you have to have machine work done on the flywheel or replacing it?)

It's a cake walk...If you have any mechanical ability and the right tools you can get it done. Compared to my WRX, that thing was a f***ing PITA and weighed as much as the damn car it seemed.[:@] Plus those little japanese bastards hide a bunch of crap to make you moer pissed off when you can't figure out why after it's completed unbolted it wont come off...

//end rant, sorry.

keep in mind this is using the lift at the shop at work...but me n a buddy had mine out in an hour last night..n all u need is some basic tools..socket for the driveshaft bolts, socket for the trans bolts, some rachets, maybe a breaker bar for the ds, other than that ..nothin really special...but this again is being able to move freely since my car was on a lift..so on ur back with car on jack stands might take a little longer..

well, if your JUST taking out the tranny, not the bellhousing or that ****, its 4 12 point 12mm bolts for the driveshaft, 2 long 1/2 inch bolts and 4 short 5/8(i think) for the tranny mount, and 4 bolts holding on the tranny to the bellhousing, and a small one for the speedo cable, and 2 connectors

at least it was for my car, it was pretty easy, and i recommend taking off the tranny like that, even if your taking out the bellhousing, its MUCH easier to get to the top bolts with the tranny out
