Default Help with rear end.

I found an 8.8 rebuild w/4.10s for $290 and a trac-lok rebuild kit for $95. Are these deals?

Aside from axles is this everything in the rear end that needs attention?

Default RE: Help with rear end.

The top kit is all you need to rebuild a mustang 8.8 rear. The spiders look like they are 31 spline ones. They will not work. If you look at the rebuild kit you will see some brown circles with some silver ones under them, thats the trac-lok rebuild. That kits is all you need to rebuild a rearend except for axle bearings. Most people dont do axle bearings but I look at it like this: you have access to them change them now to be sure they are good.

Axles and spider gears are not necessary unless they are scored and/or pitted.

EDIT: Here are the axle bearing and seal. You will need two of these.

Well it will have everything but the bearings pressed on and the ring gear pressed on. The spider gears, clutches, steels, spring and pinion shaft will all be installed.
