Default For anybody with longtubes

Did you have any problems with your longtubes fitting with your steering shaft? If so, what did you do to make your headers fit? What about fitting on the passenger side? any problems?

negative. do you mean problems sliding them in place or problems after they were already installed.

if you have problems getting them in then you gotta loosen the motor mounts and jack the engine and wiggle those suckers in, if you cant get them in you are prolly doing it wrong.

if you have problems with them installed you prolly bought a somewhat crappy product.

I bought a set from JEGS and besides cutting the flange and taking the last tube out on the drivers side to fit it around the steering shaft it was pretty simple. Although you do have to take the passenger side tubes apart to fit them in there or get under the car and see if you can get them to work. I ended up cutting them aloose and putting them in 1 by 1 till i got it rigt.

I mean problems getting them into place. I know I have to jack up the engine, but it seems like the headers are going to go in the place of the steering shaft. I'm getting as much information as I can before I actually put them in in two weekends. The brand is flowtech. I know a lot of people bash the brand, but I got them off of a friend for $75. That's a pretty good deal to me. Hopefully they fit. It looks like the steering shaft could go inbetween two of the pipes.

If it is a stock steering shaft then it will never fit.

You have to get one of the upgrade steering shafts, and even then its a PITA

i have done 3 or 4 sets of bbk long tubes and they all seemed to fit pretty good. like they said before you just need to get the motor mount loose and raise the engine bout and inch or so.

i could not get mac longtube headers to fit in my drivers side, no matter what amount of moving and twisting, they just would not go in, so i just put my shorties back on.
