Default pulleys?

Ok my status says it correctly, im a total newbie with mustangs i just bought a 95 gt 5spd though and i absolutly love it. I kinda want to bring it up from stock but i have no idea wher to begin. every site i look at has these pulleys. What are they for? if ther is a link goin that iwll tell me then someone should hook me up thanks.

Kind of a waste IMO, they slow down the accessories alt., water pump. I would spend my $ on some thing else, gains are minimal.

exactly pullies are a waste of money. Way too expensive and costly for other stuff that can go wrong by installing them. For the 50-200 bucks you could buy something that will really help it out like a MAF or air intake

They help out in the upper rpms especially, you can get 5 - 8 hp from them but it comes at the cost of possible cooling problems and charging problems if you're in alot of stop and go traffic.

don't scare the guy..I think they are worth it if you can find a cheap set...the amp series from march are great..as far as cooling just drop in a 180-185 thermostat and it will be ok....also going to an electric fan would help matter and this being a 5 speed it will be ok

i have the bbk underdrive pulys on my 89 gt and i have had no cooling problems with them. i also have a 180 degree thermostat and redline water wetter in it tho. i dont ever see the gague go above like 170. the only problem i have is at idle and i have the lights on with my system on and i go ot turn on the heat or the wipers my system goes off for about 2 sec then comes right back on when i start to go agqain. i could care less tho. ill take the power gains neday.

i have installed a number of them and find no huge problems with them, gain a lil hp, and some high speed saftey , they basically look nice and its easy to put on and you get a lil power from them . <IMG src=smileys/smiley10.gif border="0">

mass air flow , sensor , measure the amount of air you are takin in by weight,
