depends on the desired shot...but forged pistons should be consudered and maybe a main cap girdle if you plan to spray a big shot

Forged pistons are recommended, but tune is the MOST important part of a nitous feed engine. Engine failures caused by the use of nitrous are usually attributed to the engine runnning lean due to an incorrect tune.

If your looking at over 500hp, yopu might want to upgrade to a better block like the BOSS or Dart block.
I ran 100hp kit on my stock 88 HO engine with no bad effects on the bottom end. It has factory forged pistons.
Yeas as mentioned above, Make sure you have plenty of fuel. When I had my dry kit, It detonated one time and popped the head gasket @ cyl #6.( fixed under warranty [X(])Went with a wet system and had no more problems.

he is very right most failures are from bad tuning and being greedy. you can run 150 shot on your stock internals as long as you have the forged and not hyperutblah blah pistons lolwhich came in 93 94 and 95 5.0's forged were i believe started in 85 till 92. if anything i would run the next biggest fuel jet then whats called for just to make sure you have enough fuel running to the engine with the nitrous to be on the safe side of things
