Default Fresh Stroker Blowing Head Gaskets!?!?!

I've got a 95 GT 331 stroker with the trick flow top end kit, forged pistons, steel crank, equal length headers, 30 lb. injectors & MAF, 190 lph fuel pump, stock computer tune, and ignition. I popped the head gasket between cylinders 3&4 with 5&6 starting to fail in the same spot. Here's the deal, I got this motor installed mid fall last year and it ran pretty well then it sat all winter with me starting it every 2-3 weeks to run it for 20-30 minutes. Whenever it is first started it searches for idle and cams out really bad but after warming it up for 2 minutes it will idle ok. The idle would stay ok until you let it sit too long and it would spark knock but not die and it acted like it was loading up with fuel. Here's my question, I know I need to upgrade my coil, wires, and plugs but did the lack of a tune cause this or what??? I'm almost at the end of my rope with this thing and I'd appreciate some input. Thanks!!!

Not really sure why your headgaskets are failing with such low miles? If you are NA there is no reason this should be happening? Unless motor was assembled using $hitty gaskets which still shouldnt matter as they are new? If your heads are off reassemble using Cometic headgaskets they are metal.... as far as your ****ty idle get the car tuned....SN95's need a tune to run right with a built motor.

no Cometic headgaskets!

felpro 9333-pt1's

did you torque heads in sequence to 70/80ft lbs? and detorque in sequence?
heads warped?
too much timing and pinging/detontaion and leaning out from no tune can blow them

maybe if he had cast iron heads that'd be a viable option..but he has aluminum heads so fpp-1011-1 will be what you need and was the block decked??? I'd check for a warped or untrue surface

Do you have any crankcase ventilations problems. Does your dip stick ever blow oil out of it? It would have to excessive but is a possibility. I'm leaning more to what mjr is saying if your sure you are torqueing everything right.

Thanks for the tips, here's another deal I forgot to mention. The lower intake manifold gasket was blown too. It didn't let coolant into the oil but it did put part of the gasket down the center of the intake port. I didn't assemble the motor but I'm sure it was torqued in sequnce and properly. I'm looking to geta better set of head gaskets and get it tuned before driving it much.

Sounds like the heads may have an untrue deck and need a clean mill, follow the torque procedure after having them checked.

Intake gasket Blew down the center of the port???Causes massive vacuum leak which explains idle troubles.
How's your cooling system, radiator, thermostat, pump ,underdrive pulleys etc.
More horsepower = more heat.
Water or antifreeze in it? Aftermarket Gauges or factory? What's the Temp?
Cars that sit can have sticky thermostats/especially if you use water.
When you run the car for 20-30 minutes is it parked, idling the whole time?
When does it spark knock? (at idle) or under load?
