Default new to forums

sup fellas, im new to the forum, but not to the stang. i've had my 87 gt for 4 years now. It was stock til about a year ago when i blew the engine. now it has a 331 stroker, F cam, still running stock heads and intake "for now", and its 5 speed. its not a daily driver, but will see it's share of action and track time. the main reason for the post, does anyone think 4.10's are alittle steep of a gear or should i go with 3.73. Im not worried about streetability, or gas mileage, it's pretty much a weekend car. I will have new heads and intake put on near the end of summer. and probably 100 shot. any other ideas, feel free to offer them, i appreciate all input. thanks

Do like jtmustang said on the gears, but for God's sake get rid of those heads and let that 331 breathe!!!. Even some inexpensive GT40s would help greatly.

your lucky your car is even able to run ok with that cam. speed density hates to be modded and when you do change heads and intake it will def not run right. that map sensor is gunna go crazy and kill the car. time to upgrade to MAF and they make kits you should do that. as for gears 4.10s are steep go with the 3.73's

thanks, for the help. the car runs great, it just idles aroud 850-900. i was in a hurry to get the car running and am on a budget, so i used the factory heads/intake. it runs steady 9.2's in the eighth. not sure of the mph's. the engine is very tourqy also. i just havn't figured out the launch quite yet(only 3 passes). just from stroking it i gained 1/2 a sec. the stroker kit is only thing on the car thats not still factory. i'm slowly working on it. with gear, heads, intake, i guess MAF conversion, i'm looking for around 8.2, 7's with some funny fuel. thanks for the help guys, once again all input is welcomed.
