Default Turn Signals...

Sooo, the first time I have ever had the car out at night. The passenger side turn signals work fine, but the drivers side stays on(no flashing). It only does it when the headlights are on, if they are off the drivers side works fine.
Anyone have ideas?

Somethign is shorting out, likely at one of the bulbs. Chech the bulbs on the side that stays on. My old jeep did the same thing. I took out the bulb, cleaned the corrosion and put it back, problem solved.

Really? I thought it would stop flashing all the time, not just when the headlights are on if you had a blown bulb?

some bulbs are multi use they have hte brake/turn/marker in them, and they have multi filiments in them. one of the filiments blew and shorted across the turn signal filiment. turn on the lights and that turnsignal and look in the back. It can also be the front turn signal buld....not sure what year ur car is. some have 2 filiments in the front as well for marker lights/turnsignal.

I changed the front, drivers side because that was the one not flashing with the headlights on. Same thing only with it out and you look at it its on but VERY dim.

Any idea if the car's electrical connections have ever been messed with?

Something may have been grounded in the wrong spot. The turn signal uses one hot wire & 8 grounds, two for each light front right, front left, back left, back right & then a separate set for hazards that run off of the flasher by the glove box. It sounds to me like something either isn't grounded or is grounded to the wrong place.

What happens if you turn the hazards on with the headlights on? Do all 4 sides flash or does the right flash & left stay on?

I actually found that a ground wire was broke at the connector, found that while I was tracking down an intermittent starting problem. It would start fine for a few days and then just click. Found the hot wire to the starter was bad... Thanks for the help guys!
