Car Died and won't restart
I have an 89 supercharged 5.0 vert. I was driving down the road after installing a clutch cable an quadrant and the car just died on me. I pulled over and noticed that the power feed for my trex pump was not plugged into the fuse panel....must of come undone when I mounted my boost controller.Iknow I should run it to the battery and thats what I am going to do. I plugged it back in and it still won't start. I can hear both pumps come on. At first it wanted to start but wouldn't stay running....now its just cranks. Could I have did something to the fuel system with the trex pump not running. I only got about 2 miles down the road before she quit on me. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the info......I replaced the Fuel Pump Relay just cause its 10 bucks...Didn't help. I checked for spark and have it. I can hear both pumps kick on but it will still not start. It just cranks.....I can smell gas but it does not fire. I shot carb cleaner down the TB and it still did not start. My buddy had a brand new Blaster TFI so I put that in just in case trhe spark was weak, yeah i know i'm fishing now. Still does not start. So it has spark, seems to be getting gas. I will put a FP gauge on it tommorrow. Man it just seems like it wants to start but no luck.

How many miles on it? Could the timing have moved or jumped? Sounds like you have checked everything else except the fuel pressure, may want to mark the dist and then turn it small amounts clockwise and counter clockwise while someone cranks it to see if you get anything.

It turned out to be my MSD 6AL. When I checked spark at the plug I had it but it must of been intermitant. I have 12v going to the 6AL but nothing coming out. I bypassed the MSD and plugged the factory harness into the coil and it started. Had to be the $250 part. I know I can send it in for $55 repair but that take 2 weeks. Oh well I wanted to get rid of my Vortech MSD Boost controller anyway. Thanks for all the help.
