Default RE: 5.0 rod strength

Polishing the rods reduces stress risers (area where a crack/break can occur due to surface irregularities). It is accomplished by sanding the outside of the beam to remove the casting marks and surface irregularities. The sanding is done along/with the beam, never across the beam (this would create stress risers). Then the beam is polished smooth (along/with the beam again) on a buffing wheel.

From what I have gathered from others on this site, and mechanics is that the 87-92 mustangs 5.0 have forged pistons the 93-95 have the casting crap. I was dissapionted to find that out with my 95. Was looking to supercharge, oh well. Stroker kit it is.
even though the 93-95 have the hypereutectic pistons, thats not a bad thing. Those pistons are lighter and have a lower expansion rate. these pistons are perfectly capable of being used in a turbo or supercharger application.
