Default b/c im lazy

my g/f's valve covers leak, its an efi 87 sd 5.0,
is it possible to replace the gaskets without removing the intake and throttle body

You will have to remove the upper intake to get to the passenger side valve cover, sorry but there is no way around it. It only takes about 15 minutes to take it off.

you'll have to remove it, i had to do that on mine as well. luckily i was putting on a trickflow intake so i had no problem with that.

make sure you use some good quality gaskets, my felpros, (blue rubber with metal strip inside) have lasted forever and they are reuseable. i wouldnt get the cork ones.

You should be a able to reuse the upper to lower intake gasket, I've reused them many times.

Definately get a new lower intake gasket and for my own peace of mind I would get a new upper also. But if you closely inspect the one on the car right now and it still has its thickness and its perfect shape then I dont see why you couldnt reuse it... I personally would spend the extra cash on a new one for cheap insurance.

You only have to remove the upper intake not both lower and upper. But when you get the gaskets it will come in a kit of upper and lower.

no need to remove lower and as for reusing the upper........that's just plain cheap!!! don't waste time by being cheap just go buy a set

Ghetto rig it silicone around the valve cover ive seen some kids at car shows do it.
