Huge K-Member Problem

RE: Huge K-Member Problem
I have had nothing but problems with my QA1 K-member. If I had to do it all over again. I would have bought the AJE Racing K-member.
after installing my K-member, my front wheels were shifted further to one side than the other, so I had to drop the K out and enlarge the holes, so I could shift the whole thing over. Then I had to shift it as far back as I could, AND I had to max out my camber/caster plates to get my caster back close to spec.... I was NOT happy with my QA1 stuff

RE: Huge K-Member Problem
Detroit speed shops told me that the qa1 is only made for aftermarket arms, I know that doesnt affect the squareness of the k-member but they said it affects the location of the wheel cause it actually locates the wheel further back with there arms... My k-member fits really good I was just having the tire rubbing problem since I have stock arms...

RE: Huge K-Member Problem
QA1 told me that it worked with the OEM arms.... so who is right...
the manufacturer, or the dealer (who is trying to tell you that you need to spend more money b/c the stuck stuff wont work)

RE: Huge K-Member Problem
So just to update you guys...I called QA1 today, the tech guy there said flat out, 99% of the time it wont work with stock componets, so I said, since 1% of the time it does work you can sell it as works with stock componets? Doesnt make very much sense to me, but he clearly stated the aftermarket arms will locate the wheels where they need to be about 1-1/2 inches back...So I guess 1% of the time something works you can sell it as works....[:@]

ORIGINAL: SMKMUP
...I heard only one company makes a proper k-member for stock componets according to detroit speed shops and it aint the one I have apparently..haha....If any one needs a whole brand new stock suspension let me know, I'm gonna have to sell it....Brand new strange drag struts, brand new poly bushings....

Is it possible that the unit in question was out of true?
Is it possible that the car in question was "torqued" the whole car very slightly tweeked?
How about: is it possible that the k member was labeled as the incorrect part number; you know for sn95 or the such....
what about just asking them to send you another unit to try, anyways those are the questions that flashed through my head when I read the first few posts, sorry if they were already brought up by other folks

RE: Huge K-Member Problem
ok I see its a QA1 that explains it[] sorry for your troubles!
haa ha I think you should keep your k member and build another mustang around it
that way you can keep all the other parts you bought and make another car for more serious stuff[8D]
