clutch pedal feels firmer after installing quadrant and cable
I have hada centerforce dual friction clutch and firewalladjusterin my car for a year now and today I installed a bbk clutch quadrant and cable in my car to eliminate the ratcheting of the stock piece and now the pedal is firmer. I do have it set so it has some freeplay so it isn't too tight. Iam justwondering if it should feel firmer after the install of not?

Ok when you mean firmer, harded to press or as in not enough play at the top of the pedal. Also, which quadrant did you get? One has more of an arch than the other.

It requires more effort to press the pedal, and I do have it set so it has a little freeplay at the top of the pedal. The part # is BBK-1505. I didn't compare the arch of the old vs. new quadrants but I can see how that could effect the resistance.

plastic on metal has less friction for one and will be able to push a little easer than metal on metal but the way they are designed i wouldnt think that it would make a difference. maybe you just need to grow some ***** and stop being such a woman[8D]

My Brother has a Centerforce Dual Friction in his 03 gt and we insstalled a upr kit. The pedal was so damn hard to press he couldnt drive it. After I did some looking I found that the cable was rubbing inside on the sleeve. I rigged up the stock cable to work and its a super soft pedal but there is no slack and no ratching. Granted the slack is removed through a firewall adjuster. He says the pedal feels much better now even better than the stock setup.

oh yeah i forgot you put the new cable in there. i have heard that cables will really change the firmness of the pedal. try spraying some sylicone lubricant down the sleeve of the cable that will make that cable glide through the sleeve that stuff works great on everything...gets my belt to stop squeeking for a week haha
