Default i need help from the 86 50 guys

Ok so i was talking to this guy i now and i told him about how the 86 50 has flat top pistons and that you can not do a bigger cam or heads because the pistons would hit the valves because they do not have valve relief. He told me that i could run TFTW heads and a TF cam and it should not hit The pistons or valves is this so or do i still have to change my pistons to run bigger heads and or cam

ptv has nothing to do with valve lift[&:]..but yes it is a good idea on an 86 to run tfs head as they have canted valves not inline....and cam choices for you are limited to certain ones not because of possible ptv probs but more so cause your speed density

a cam affects vacum. speed density reads off of vacum.theres alot of rumors on the 86 motor, ive been thru alot of them.i geuss e7 heads will work on a 86 block. and the e7 has a better flow supposedly compared to the e6 heads. trick flow tw are spendy new. in my opinion you can get your motor redone up nicely with updated pistons for the price of those heads and make the same power.

but the tfe kit with stage 1 cam and make sure you clay the pistons and check clearance ..there is no such thing as bolt on and go without performing proper checks

i probably just pick out a 5.0 out of a latemodel explorer and stuff it in there,

oh if you think your up to the task you can flycut your pistons Isky has a tool for that, seems like it would be a great alternative
