my therm is 180 but it runs at 220. whaT CAN I DO TO LOWER IT??????

it does not overheat it gos to 220 and stays there -when its idling or driving

I dont think its working right, but when i tested it to see what its running at i didnt use the therm for that reason. i do think i need a new therm. but is thieranything i can do to lower it from 220 to 180??

replace the therm. its not working right so if its not opening all the way your car will continuously run hot especially if rad, water pump and fan is working properly and you've flushed everything. its yours therm. have you verified everything is in working order and clean?

I have heard of these water additives which are designed to lower the water temp by around 30 deg. I'm on the lookout for them in the shopsto see if they work.

first you need to flush your system if your cooling system works right you wouldnt need that stuff
