Default Need Help!!!! Sputtering...Cuts Off!!!

I have a 93 5.0 that has always run great until my od burnt out...well replaced with used aod tranny and was fine. Well a couple weeks ago it started sputtering when I would slow down make a turn and when I started to accelerate it would sputter for a couple seconds then back to normal. Also I have came to a complete stop and I notice it almost shuts off and actually has a couple times. RPM's drop low then most of the time bounce back up, I don't think it has anything to do with the tranny swap, someone told me possibly the fuel filter, any suggestions?

would start by replacing the fuel filter, right near the tank its preatty easy. do you have a fuel pressor gauge under your hood at all? if not try hooking one up to the schreader**(not sure of thats correct) valve on your fuel lines and see whaat kind of pressure your getting

thanks for your reply, no I don't have a gauge anywhere...could you tell me where that valve is located at? And I'm guessing that's to test if the fuel pump's going bad right?

yeah it will tell you how much pressure you get in your line. the valve is located on the left side of the engine on the fuel rail. should be near the front of your motor, ill run out and see if i cant get a pic of mine for ya

When was the last time you gave the car a tune up? Sounds like a weak ignition (bad cap/rotor, wires, or plugs).
