The fuel sending unit has to be the problem!!!!!!
ok the car is running great....drives good...i changed the plugs today...they are burning light gray...but the only thing im having problems with is when the car sits on slight slope...only when the nose of the car is facing downward...and when the fuel guage is reading a half a tank....the car usually doesnt start.....i typed usually because if the car is above a half a tank the car will start fine. When i parked today on a slope going downward....3 hours later..the car didn't start...but when i held the gas pedle down a little, the car started on the first key turn.....if im correct, this explains why the fuel guage needs drops when im driving uphill and rises when driving downhill....also after the car is started while on a hill...the fuel pump seems to be struggleing because its makes aweak whining sound...but car has a relativily new holley fuel pump...but i posted this topic b4 and everyone said its not the sending unit.............(u guys might laugh) but when i asked my uncle... (which he is the one who installed the fuel pump)..he told me that he put the new fuel pump on the old sending unit..i believe i solved my own problem....but i made the post this on this forum to ask u tech guys...who have more experience over these issues more than i have....thx i appreciate your opinions...

RE: The fuel sending unit has to be the problem!!!!!!
my first question would be is the gauge reading correctly???? you might think you have a half tank but if the gauge / sending unit is inaccurate that may be the whole problem...and the fuel tank sending unit is seperate from the fuel pump carrier/assembley...you are incorrectly using the term sending unit to describe your issue.....sending unit = sender for fuel level = seperate from puel pump carrier assembley
