Default Timing troubles

Ok guys i have a 93 stang with a 351w carb'd in it. Alright the other day i broke a lifter somehow, so i take the manifold off and get all the pieces of the lifter out of there and replace it. All is well so far, but when i took the intake off i had to pull out the distributer (i marked it near the cap, and where it slides in). Anyways while it was out i had to turn the motor over a couple times to get the roller rockers back into place. So now im having timing trouble as you could guess, i put the car at TDC and have done all that and its still just backfiring out the carb when i try to start it. Anybody have any guides or something that would help out. Thanks

Sounds like its just off, first make sure that you have all the spark wires connected to the right ones on the distributor. Then i'd get a timing light, pretty cheap and simple.

It's about all you can do unless you wanna take it in and they take 5 mins and charge you for it >.<
