Fuel pressure isolator question

Fuel pressure isolator question
I use a Mallory kit that is Tee'd in between my nitrous fuel solenoid and my safety cutout switch. I have no reason to believe there is an issue with fuel delivery to the isolator. However, last year I removed my dash and have left the water line (on the firewall side of the isolator) empty and thus my gauge has been inoperative for about a year. It worked well before I removed the line from the gauge although I think there may have been a small amount of air in it because the gauge would climb up to near 100psi during a hot soak on a summer day.
Now, I am trying to get the gauge working again by filling the firewall side of the isolator with water using a syringe. I left the end of the line at the gauge loose and shot water through the engine side of the line until it began to come out of the gauge side of the line.
I am trying to purge this line by myself and although there doesn't seem to be air in the line, I suppose there could be because the line runs across the firewall, through the steering shaft boot and then up to my center vent.
Anyone ever tried what I am doing and/or have any advice on how to make this easier and/or successful? I really don't want to remove the isolator because then I have to purge the fuel side and spray 40psi of fuel pressure all over the place. Remember- I am flying solo on this one.
Any help is greatly appreciated gentlemen.

RE: Fuel pressure isolator question
fill the gauge with fulid, fill line to isolator with fulid, crack line at the isolator(untill fulid come out), refill lineto isolator, and attach to gauge. that how it sould go for the gauge to isolator side.

RE: Fuel pressure isolator question
well.... I removed the isolator and purged it per the instructions (flat on a table) and got the gauge to respond. I gues it was an air bubble I was fighting......
Now it seems the damn thing is leaking. I cleaned it off real well but my fuel pressure starts to bleed off about 2psi per minute and the bottom of the damn isolator is wet with fuel. AHHHH!!
The dumb *** previous owner mounted the thing right above the right hand header. Actually, it is above the nitrous solenoid which is above the header. I am driving this thing on a 16 hour round trip on memorial day and I can't have a fuel leak above a header. Tried to tighten the hexhead screws on the body of the isolator butI think it's just toast. What a cheap piece ofshyt!
Now comes the joy of running to part stores and hardware stores until I can find a compression fitting with a deadhead that matches up to my line.[:@][:@][:@]
