not getting fuel
i've got a 85 gt i'm getting no fuel i don't have it hooked up to the carb yet but i should get fuel coming out of the line after the pump right. i just replaced the fuel pump with a new one i do have 2 inline filters, one before the pump and one after the pump. Any idea why i wouldn't be getting fuel. I have pumped fuel through the lines with a hand pump so there not stopped up. I do have the retrun line blocked off. It is a mechanical pump[/align]

RE: got getting fuel
I cleared the lines on my old carbed truck by d/c the fuel line from the primary, laid it in a cup and hit the starter for a sec. Took a couple bursts of the starter to prime the line, then it made a mess all over the front of the engine bay

RE: got getting fuel
Are you building the motor or just replacing the pump in general? You might want to make sure you have the escentrics bolted up inside. It is what the pump lever rides on and gets pushed down by to pump the fuel. Are you sure you put the supply line on the correct line and don't have the supply and return backwards??

RE: got getting fuel
85's have a return line and a supply line as stated above..if they are in the correct order check all rubber lines for dry rot and or split rubber lines that may draw air..even the ones on top of the tank
