Probe is descent i guess. Are you saying you already have a 306 because a 306 is not a stroker. It's just a 302 bored .030
Isn't a long rod 306 a stroker? I know that's not whathe's talking about here, but others read and should know there is a 306 that is not just a 4.030 bore.

It is not considered a stroker, unless the stroke is changed.

A long rod 306 typically has a 5.40" rod and a shorter compression height piston.

True David as a whole, but the piston stroke has increased. And there is a difference betweena 5.09" rod and the 5.4" (increased piston speed caused by a longer rod). I just think everyone should know that not all 306's are bored 302's.

my 5.0 has 145xxx on it and i was going to start off by rebuilding the bottom end of the block. my question is if anyone has ever herd of Probe industries stroker kits and if they are good.
What you need is a high compression(10.1) setup as far as cost .Cheaper.

Probe .040 pistons, block bored and honed .040, pistons balanced and pressed like the old ones.

Trickflow or Eldelbrock Intake.

You should make at least 300rwhp with some decent heads, thats alot of power in a fox with massive torque and your ET will greatly reduce.
