Default T-5 Question(s)

Hey guys, just seeking some information about a 4Cyl T-5 I'm throwing in my car for a month or so.
I currently run a 351W, w/ aluminum heads, decent sized cam and a bunch of other upgrades. Two weeks ago I raced my buddy's HCI LS1 GTO and when I hit third I toasted my T-5. Now, this really sucks because I just had it rebuilt about 2k miles ago. I've since found a 4cyl one for 75 bucks, I'm gonna install it for a month or so until I get my TKO 600. Now my questions are, does the 4CYL T5 (Basic 3) require ATF, or some type of gear oil? I've read mixxed passages online about it and cant get a good answer. Secondly, I notice the input shaft stub is a different diameter. What vehicle should I request when I go to the parts store as far as a Pilot bearing, I was told 84 85 Diesil Ranger, is this factual?
Thanks again for the help guys.
-Nate
