i just got my new speedo cable in the mail, and i am still having the same problem. the part on the speedo where the cable goesinto, there is some white plastic inside the hole.when i first removed the clluster there were white plastic bits falling out from there. why wont the cable go in. is there some sort of polastic adapter or something that is broken?

It should just snap right in. No adapter. Take the cluster apart and see if there is any pieces of the old cable in there or some other obstruction.

k i just got it in. thanks alot man. i dont know what the stock cable was made out off. but there was a long square plastic tip jammed in the spot where the enw cable goes. i didnt know if it was supposed to go there or what. i just rammed a screw in and pulled it out.

so whats the best way of taking out the old cable and putting in the new. i was going to unplug the old cable from the tranny then pull it through the fire wall. then i was going to push a coat hanger though the fire wall hole tape the new cable to it and pull it though the fire wall, and then plug it all in.
