wow..stock cam is a 347 build......FYI the cam isn't the only thing that'll affect emission output..the raised compression will have an effect also....but a stock cam will just kill the potential on that build
Actually, the pistons I got have 20cc dishes, combined with the 61cc chamber heads that are planned,should bring the compression down a fair bit.
But you're totally right, the stock cam wouldn't get anywhere close to what the engine could do. Maybe I should just get an N/A-grind cam for now...

^^^^^^ahhhh okay.......just call a custom grinder...they will set you up with what you need....but don't call a comp or crane tech line call a custom individual like flowtech induction or camshaft innovations

You could have a real custom cam designed for a turbo setup + be emissions compliant now, and then install the turbo. Keep in mind that the E303 is a cam (as the other alphabet cams) designed for a 302, it will respond and work totally different in a 347 setup. Why go through the cam install + PR length & geometry check, etc, etc twice for your engine?
Hmmm, you make a good point. Okay, then say I were to call a cam company and ask to get a custom-ground turbo / emissions legal cam. What technical info would they need about my engine to be able to make the cam?
When you're ready, you fill-in a build sheet with all the information regarding your combo, and send it in. Over the phone camshaft "designs" are questionable.

The stock cam wont give you the full potential of your heads. Small heart and big lungs is not great anotomy.

Okay, how about this;
1) N/A cam for now, turbo cam for later. More money overall, but more fun too.
2) turbo cam now, and just wait for the turbo to come in. Less money, but not full potential at first.

stanks347, nice setup, according to your sig. what does she run? street tires?
