Next time go buy a Crane HI box. Equivilent to the 6A but better because the rev limiter is at the turn of a dial so you don't have to purchase the pills to adjust it.

Thank guys you are great. can anyone tell me is there is any fuse under the hood that has to be unplugged to time the car properly. I have a been told to unplug a fuse (that runs out from under the upper plenum and ends at the dizzy with a small black plastic type fuse) Before timing engine. To a lot of you this my be a foolish question.I've looked in Chilton and Haynes manuals and I can,t identify this fuse, So like a good soldier I unplug it to time car but when I plug it back in it changes the degrees I just set it at? have been unplugging this fuse to time engine. does anybody have info on this. also I'm timing it at 4 degrees advanced, idling around 900 using calibrated snap on MT 22 light. I was told that if I did not unplug fuse I could short out wiring.

Unplug the shorting plug, set your timing to 12-14 degrees BTC and you will be set. Yes after you plug the plug back it it changes to compensate for what it has to by the computer.
