The set of patriot heads for a sbf I saw looked like junk. They were at the machine shop, I looked them over pretty good, the first thing I noticed was some of the rockerstuds weren't lined up with the rest. Then when you look down the ports the shrouding around the valve guides was horrible. There was also metal in the ports that I was told was there when the heads came out of the box new. Sounds like poor quality to me...

I'd stay away from them personally.

Never mind... I thought about it and decided I don't care that much. I listen, Ijust don't always agree. I have gotten a lot of great advice from this site and I plan to continue that trend.

the Blueovalindustries.com x303 head is only $1070, thats not bad at all for a aluminum head.....


i might have to look these x303's up and see what ppl think about em

were the rocker arm studs tightened down? that would be a pretty big concern for me if they were and they were outta whack. the shrouding and such is no biggy, as i wouldnt bolt on any set of heads until i had them apart and touched everything up anyways.
