instrument cluster voltage reg

instrument cluster voltage reg
86 gt vert. where is the instrument cluster voltage regulator? will all of the gages react the same if it is bad? the amp gage works fine. the fuel is touch and go. the oil pressure seems to work most of the time, but now is towards the low side. and the temp gage doesn't work at all. all is original so the reg is probably going.

RE: instrument cluster voltage reg
the sending units may be bad I'd check those out first...but if you wanna know the IVR on a 86 cluster is on a little metal bracket on back of the cluster and it has a 9 volt battery like connection

i'v checked or replaced all sending units. i've been told by a couple people the IVR is just as you explained, but i have nothing like that. just two wire harness plugs. anyone have a pic? maybe i'm blind

RE: instrument cluster voltage reg
guess i jumped the gun. did some more research. it's right next to the fuel gage...correct? didn't bother to look good enough. only metal bracket on the back. i thought that was part of the fuel gage. thankx for the help
