RE: what belt do i need??
I'm not too sure about relocating the tensioner, but round obviously does some pretty hardcore mods to his car for drag racing, so if anyone would know about that, it would be him.
About the delete kit, I don't think it should cost you any more than $40.
But like I said, it's up to you, people have done it without the kits and have had no problems, so there's always that chance that nothing will ever happen, so if you really feel like giving it a try without the kit, do it, just after you get a size that fits, run the car with the hood open, and let it warm up to operating temperature, let the belt warm up, then watch the belt closely where it comes close, watch the arcing to see if it get's close to each other, rev the engine and see if the arcing get's worse, if the tensioner is keeping the belt tight enough, the arcing should be very minimal and simply excluding the a/c and smog from the belt route will probably work for you.
Worst case scenario, you're watching it and the belt snaps, if you have a CAI that isn't fenderwell, the belt hit the exposed filter and ding it and it'll need replacement, but if that happens, as long as it doesn't happen while you're driving and you don't notice it, and the waterpump is not running and your engine can overheat. But most likely, if you test it out like I described, and everything looks ok and nothing looks dangerously close, then you should be fine.

I did mine without using a pulley to replace them, I have a diagram of how I routed my belt, but can't figure out how to post pics here.
if you tell me how to post pics I will show you how I did it.

well, i dunno about posting pics. mine are always too big to post. can you tell me how you routed it though? like.... "clockwise : over the tensioner, under the water pump, over and around the p/s, etc..." that cool?? i'd appreciate it. i don't wanna spend $40 or whatever for a relocator kit. thanks!

I think silver did the routing AROUND the tensioner thing that 68ho taught everyone here. I'm not too sure about routing a ribbed surface over a smooth surface pulley, but that's just me...

Dude, everyone, stop taking size advice from people, it's different for almost all of us. For me, the correct size is 820, for someone else, it's 850, it varies, there are far too many variables to really accurately tell everyone what size they need. Either use the rope method to find the length, or cut your old belt and route it the way you want it, mark it, then measure it, or do trial and error using belts from the local parts store.
That's basically the only way to do it!
