I just got back after running my car the fastest its ever been on an empty freeway. Damn was it an adrenaline rush. I romped on it in first and just let it all hang out, going through 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. In fifth gear I let it pull all the way to 5k rpms, and things looked absurdly fast (to be honest I was scared to pull much more than a second or two more than I did, as the "oh ****" factor had kicked in about halfway through fourth). I really dont know how fast I was actually going though because my speedo is off after switching to 3.73's. It was pegged by easily an inch on my 140 mph speedometer, I would say reading 165+?

Does anyone know how fast 5th gear at 5k rpms is with a 245/45/17 tire?

Yeah, I was figuring it was about 140, give or take 5 mph.
I know it was probably a bit stupid, and dont plan on doing it again soon, but Im young and stupid so I have an excuse
Too bad I dont have a video camera of my own [&:]

.......oh I understand I haven't taken mine up that high in a long time.....fastest mine sees is the 1/4 mile and then I shut it down

I got a lot of s@$% on this kind of post i got everything but H/C/I and stock gears 2.73. what i would like to know is if he was doing 130 140 how fast was i going?the z06 said i was going about 160 170ish?4500 5th gear?

got mine up to 130 the other night racing a porsche

was pulling a good 2-3 cars on him and let off about then and he kept goin, prob up to about 140-150

i guess he won since i let off lol..

good way to increase blood pressure

i wasnt even in 5th gear.. 273's ftw

ya man, before I put exhaust, u/d pullies and the 3.73's. I was stock with headers and 2.73's, top of third is like what, 105 or so? I thought it was quick for what it was, then when I got the 3.73's... mother of god. haha it was like a whole new car... 4th gear still puts ya in your seat, and 5th still pulls. 373's are sick for a balance of acceleration and highway mileage

And I havent ever been to a track =[... I wouldnt want to go though until I get new rubber cause mine wont grab for nothin off the line and also need my peglegs corrected [:@].. However, my 255's arriving in the mail tomorrow
