RE: Front Spring Install???
i just did mine and you need a clamshell spring compressor. i bought on on ebay for 60 bucks, otherwise if you get them from mcpherson its like 280 dollars. or take it to a place to have them do it. if you have the clamshell spring compressor it takes literally 10 minutes to install.

RE: Front Spring Install???
I've used a 'Lisle' brand spring compressor a couple times putting front springs in.
What I do is this.
I compress the spring on the work bench using an air impact, when it all the way compressed, I use a chains to hold it. Remove the compresser tool and install the spring.
BE VERY CAREFUL DURING THE ENTIRE OPERATION, SPRINGS CAN KILL YOU!!!
hope this helps....

i wish i could help you w/ the fronts. i was gonna do them myself but my car was at the shop getting a new oil pump, oil pan, steering rack, and tie rods. so i just had them put the front springs on while they were in there.
but the rears are easy as ****. just let the axel hang as much as it can and just rip them out. they should be loose. you may need to step on the drum to push it down to get the new ones in. but its quick to do. \\;
good luck

RE: Front Spring Install???
I just came home with one of the Autozone rentals that is for internal spring use....unfortunately I got it before I read this thread....but the thing I ran into is that there is no way for it to come through the hole in the bottom of the a-arm. Back to square one...

RE: Front Spring Install???
This spring compressor works great for front spring installs. Just used it two weeks ago and had no problems http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=43753
