Default H/C/I + supercharged OR new 351 Engine????

Hi all

So here I am again, asking for some opinions. I have a 95 GT 5.0 and I was thinking of some serious mods. I was thinking of either doing a H/C/I, but nobody can argue with the power that boost brings right!!! So I was wonding if I can do H/C/I first and then boost with my 5.0. Another option would be to swap in a new 351, but if I did I would prob end up supercharging it anyway, but a swap can be very costly. So what do you guys think. Can I do H/C/Iwith supercharging????? This is not for the track. I more of a street fun guy. Oh, and I wanna be a supra killer too!!! Curse those import cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well id go with a 351 stronger and you can get more hp out of it if you choose. If you want to be supra killer your going to need a dart block and a crap load of boost. Those things with some work can be 1200hp+ so you going to need some where around there if you want to kill all that you cross. Here's the bad news with the horspower you going to need a new trans capable of holding it plus your rear end rebuilt to handle the tourque. so yeah costly how ever you look at it

yeah, i was thinking perhaps it would be better to swap in a 351 but I want it to be EFI. Most of the 351 crates I've seen come carbed! how easy is it to make it EFI???

I've given all hope against the skyline GTR but I still wanna kill the supras since its a little more of a fair fight with RWD.

A h/c/i/sc setup on a factory 5.0 block will be maxed out and after those modifications your done with power unless you decide to upgrade to a stronger block (dart, boss, FRPP, etc.). I would have to say to go with the 351W setup. If you keep the factory short block it will also be cheaper and you have alot of room to grow from there. Any 351W is significantly stronger than the factory 302, and depending on the year, the earlier bloks are even stronger. As posted above, don't forget that your going to need suppporting mods. Don't just think that your going to throw together a 500hp motor together, drop it in and call it day. Unfortunately, it just doesnt work that way. Remember cooling mods, transmission, suspension, rear end, ignition, fuel, etc. etc. etc. You don't have to go all out but there are certain things that must be upgraded in order to have a proper car.

5.0 kid, yes TT supra's have tons of potential but I wouldnt go as far as saying that can net 1200 with "some" work. Unless we have a completely different understanding of what "SOME" means. You would have to upgrade every part on that car...

got to pay to play, and to hand with the big boys costs big $
351 plus twin turbos= low 10 sec potential, now of course that will take an h/c/i on top of that to really get every hp out of it. pm r.barn about the 351 and turbo, hes got one and its freakin awsome.

the 351 is a better platform, i went the 331 route and kinda wish i went 351 instead.

I say stroked 351 also.

What's the limits on a production roller 351 block? Stroke and bore? Crank HP?

Bore is about the same as a 302 block.

The stroke is limited to 4-4.100" roughly, without any real modifications.

A straight 351 is going to be very weak. A stroked combination would be a nice way to go about it.

An extra 20-30 pounds of rotating assembly is not good.
