Default New flywheel or resurface?

Within the next week I will be changing out my tranny and clutch. The flywheel on my car is 5 years old and has about 20K miles on it. Will it be okay to resurface it or should I spring for a new one?

resurface, why WOULD you need a new one unless it had huge grooves in it?

yeah after you resurface it , it is just like new and actually probably better cuz the circular machining probably grips better.

anyways, unless your gonna spend a few bucks and do a billet steel, or billet aluminum (about $300) just resurface. the only 2 conditions you would have to get new is if it were damaged (grooves cracked etc) or was already resurfaced to the point there is no room left to do it safely

the billet clutches have their advantages... but if your relatively stock don't worry about it

if it doesn't chatter get a die grinder and a 3m rol-loc buff disc and buff it out

I have used a new flywheel, resurfaced it, and not resurfaced it.

No problems with either, in my situation.

A resurface is $25 where I come from.

Thanks Mustang brothers. I am on a summer budget (I am a teacher) and I bought a Centerforce DF instead of replacing the King Cobra I currently have. I want to spend my money wisely without being cheap as cheap costs you more in the end. Again thanks.
