Default Inconsistent oil burn

About a month ago my car started burning oil for a few days and then it stopped. I drove it every day for the next two weeks and it ran great with out burning any oil and about a week ago it started burning oil again. Now it will burn oil randomly. It doesn't matter if the engine is cold or warmed up, rpms do not matter either. When my car does burn oil theamount of smoke that comes out varies as well. Sometimes its barely any and other times its like a smoke machine is hoooked up to my exhaust[:@][:@][:@]. I have talked to some guys that are good with cars and the only thing they can think of is a bad valve seal, a bad ring, or pcv valve is stuck (the gromet did pop it off once but never again). So I checked my pcv and I can hear the ball moving around so I'm guessing its good and if its a bad ring wouldn't if alway burn???? Any one have any idea of what else it could be before I rip my heads off?

Default RE: Inconsistent oil burn

Oil returns clogged in the heads? This can cause oil to run down the valves.
