Default Replaced steering rack bushings today

I just wanted to give you folks a heads up. My car was getting alot of bump steer and steering wander so I changed out the steering rack bushings which cost about 20 bucks from American muscle and all I can say is wow!, the car drives like a new car with no more wander or bump steer. It only took about an hour and a half to change them out taking my time, well worth the effort

Red95gtconvert, did you use the offset type bushings? And how low is your car? Did you have to realign your car? Sorry about all the questionsI just purchased a set ofoffset bushings for my 90 convertable and am going to install this weekend. Thanks!

I used the standard rack bushings from American muscle. My cars is lowered 1 1/2" and drives straight as an arrow but now when I go over bumps in the road the steering wheel doesn't move from side to side so I don't think it will need an alignment.

when a car is lowered toe will be affected equally on both wheels causing tire scuff...best to have alignment checked..car could still drive straight but scuff the tread right off
