Default Cannot figure out a/c issue

Its hot.. in fact its getting too hot to sit in traffic with my a/c not working. I recently purchased an a/c charge kit, and its not charging my system. im thinking that theres an issue with something along all the ac components. First off, when i turn my ac on full blast, the clutch will engage and then disengage every 10 seconds. It will do this even if i pull the high pressure connector and complete the circuit with a jumper wire. Does this mean my compressor is shot?? Even if i had a leak somewhere along the condensor or lines, shouldnt that ac clutch be engaged at all times after jumping the pressure swith? Any help would be just great.

try taking it to a shop, that normally means your low on gas when the clutch disengages, if the compressor works its not burnt out, your most likely low, try a new bottle of refrigerant, also when your filling dont tip the bottle over and keep it in a bucket of warm water.

you have a low pressure switch and a a/c cycling clutch switch ..you need to put a set of a/c gauges on the car and monitor high and low side pressures and see what is going on....if system has a full charge and it still does this various things could be wrong such as debris in front of radiator restricting air flow across the condensor which will elevate high side pressures and cut compressor or there could be a restriction in the orifice tube causing the system to be drawn into a vaccum and low pressure switch cuts it off. or it's simply low on refrigerant..bottom line a/c gauges are your diagnostic tool here.. without them it'll be hard to make an accurate diagnosis of system
