89 mustang 5.0 build
I bought this car back in august in VA beach area, brought it 800+ miles home on a tow dolly behind my v6 chevy pickup.
started like this. doesent look like much, but its a 1 owner 5.0 with 92k original miles, MAC CAI, Mac shortie headers, mac H pipe, mac duals, "supposed" to be fresh rebuilt trans and rear. i have no reason to doubt it, but dont have any proof either. Bought it from one of my brothers best friends so i know its history.
last month i started tearing it down and it got all new energy suspensions poly bushings in the whole front end, Ford Racing Performance Parts springs all the way around, then did all the body work and primer after all the greasy jobs were done
base coat
then some clear
and some buffing
almost there!
pretty much done! (minus door trim, still contemplating that step.)
once i get the trim on the outside, i'll be pretty well done with the exterior other than another quick job with the buffer to get out some of the spots that still are a little cloudy. Next year i'll concentrate on interior (carpet, headliner, visors, etc.) then maybe after that some more performance goodies.

I got those 1/4 window molding covers off ebay and painted them with the same exterior trim paint i used on the rest of the trim. It actually did have window tint and i peeled it all off. On this car, i think i prefer the cleaner look of the clear glass. besides, the old tint was bubbling and purple. here in MI, side tint is illegal and pretty highly enforced, i dont want to have to deal with that, and i dont want just the back glass tinted.
Within a couple of days i should have an update or so building my subwoofer box and installing the rest of the stereo.
forgot to mention too, all of the mechanical work was done by me, and my father helped me paint it. I know alot of you are not GM fans, but this is his car that we did about 3 years ago. 5.7 TPI 700r4. The stang has no problem keeping up either

well, shes juuuuust about done. gotta get the rear hatch lock cylinder back in, but i'm missing a couple parts still... other than that, one more quick once over with the buffer should be all she needs! got all the trim painted (finally, after quite an ordeal) and the silver stripe on it. wasent sure how i liked it, but i think i'm sold on it. Plus, by and large the overall opinion has been good on it so far. i know alot of you enthusiests wont like it though.

well, the pics dont show it too great, but we actually painted it in the barn, but its not much cleaner lol. We kept the floor wet, and it was already raining outside most the day, so it kept most of the bugs and fuzzies at bay.
