if your thinking of a drag car, something to perform well on the track, get a fox body notch, its the lightest of all of them, IMO the hatchbacks look better, but are heavier

dont need forged pistons, the block will split first. my buddy's 95 w/ heads, intake and s/c is making 450rwhp, stock bottom end w/ 140k miles, not a hickup since he lifted the stock heads slightly like 4 months ago, its his DD, he beats on it every day and hasnt had any problems, wish mine was like that lol

depending on where you live if you get a car 20 years old and older it doesnt have to pass an emission test so 88 and older, this way you can do all of your mods and not have to worry about keeping it legal for next year
now we just need to get rid of those noise laws, if bikers can keep there bikes so loud they rumble your house then we should be able to do the same with our cars [sm=smiley2.gif]

sn95 weighs about 3400lbs in full street trim
not as heavy as the newer stangs, but yes a little heavier than the foxes. not far from the gt, the gt is a little heavier than the lx, but an lx vert weighs the same as the sn95 gt coupe.
imo the sn95 is much better street car and still makes a great drag car, the same suspension has to go in each car, the sn has less body flex btw
if you were to get a 96-98, i would so the PI swap, the NPI (non PI, which PI is like performance enhancing or something like that) is slow compared to the PI, a guy picked up .48 at the 1000ft mark (didnt have 1/4 times, just up to 1k ft) with just the swap, thats impressive.

RE: 89-93?..94-97?
yea, but you can bolt on aftermarket heads and intake, and cam for the 5.0, just like the 4.6 and do the same! were not getting into another discussion about this! leave it for the other thread

3,380 lbs even - BONE STOCK 1994 5spd GT, with full tank and no driver.
I just weighed my new '93 stock coupe (AOD) - 3,184 lbs, with one gallon shy of a full tank of gas.
Also weighed a 2000 Mustang GT, 5spd, Leather, 17x9 Chrome wheels, 5/8's of a tank of gas - 3,337 lbs.
Weighed my old '93 hatchback (AFR heads/subframes), 5spd, half of a tank of gask - 3,170 lbs.
These were all on CERTIFIED race scales.
