Default car's getting hot while cruising

so i'm curious as to what this may be... if im just sitting with the car ideling at a light or something, it stays right where it needs to be on the temp as in about middle. but if i get on the freeway and im cruising it starts to get hot. it just seems odd that it would be fine sitting but if im moving it gets hot. even if i hold the revs up a little since i was curious, it's still fine at a dead stop, obviously the radiator should be okay since it's fine at a stop, water pump is working, thermostat isnt sticking, fan is working..... right now it's keeping me guessing. any help is appreciated

My '94GT was doing that, but it was also throwing a code and the check engine light was coming on. It turned out to be a vacuum leak going to the TAB/TAD solenoids so the EGR system was not functioning properly.
