My T5 is toast, input shaft, output shaft, synchros, 3rd, 4th, just about everything. Too much to rebuild it, so Im going to the junkyard to get another one for the time being. I dont want to stick with the t5 anymore. What is a direct replacement or almost direct replacement that is stronger and a decent price (about 1000-1300 or less if possible)?
go for a tko, the old ones were junk incuding the 3550, the new ones are good, they shift smooth, i love the tko i got. you need a bellhousing, but... if you wanted yo can drill and tap out 2 new holes cause the tko uses the same bellhousing but 2 holes dont match up i felt ripped off.... but you'll also need a new tranny cross-member and depending on which model you may need a yoke
