RE: wiring help
wiring to the computer isn't going to be the problem. Slim chance it's your computer in a situation like this.
If the car worked with the old harness, the problem is going to be at one of the dash/engine harness connectors; the one green 8 pin one by the passenger side kickpanel, close to the eec or it's going to be where the plugs are under the hood, close to the firewall, on the drivers side. Depending on the harness there will be one connector or two. They should have 8 wires going into each. You'll more than likely have to repin a couple of the wires on the two (or one in some cases) on the drivers side firewall. There's also a possibility you'll have to repin one wire on the green 8 pin connector. One on it controls power to the fuel pump.
Also, keep the 4 cylinder gauges in there until you get the car running. By putting the gauges in there you're adding an additional thing in there that would also pose a problem.
When you do a gauge swap, more times than not you'll have to repin the two rectangle plugs that go into the back of the gauge. So keep the 4 cylinder gauges in until the car starts & runs.
Your eec relay is kicking on when you turn the key into the key on position correct?

RE: wiring help
i bought the car without the 4cyl motor in it so it never ran while in my pocession. the eec relay does not turn on.its so confusing because ive read many different articals saying you dont have to change any pins on the 4cyl harness then others saying you do.... im positive that they are the same year harnesses tho just the engine is v8 and dash is 4cyl..... the only reason i think it could be the computer is because i tried to see if everythin works then realized i had a ground that needed to be connected....
