Default Stock 5.0 times

I've heard everything from 15.8 all the way to 14.2. All from a manual 5.0 Mustang GT. I'm in the market looking for one so what year should I be looking at??

I'm going to look at a 93 Mustang 5.0 LX Auto today, is that probably a bad idea if I'm looking for a close to 14 second if not a 14 second 5.0 to start with.

14.2 would be real fast for a bone stock GT. Hatchback/Gts are closer to 15 but some notch LXs can go 14s stock. As for what year you should look at what body style do you like? All of them can be made to go fast.

Well im looking at any 87-93 Mustang GT's or 5.0 LX's but im planning on adding a nice Vortech in the summer. I was just wondering what would be the best year to start off with, and If an auto would be a mistake to put a Vortech on, im already looking at the 1986-93 5.0L - V-2 S/T-Trim
Item #VOR-4FA2180 From Vortech.

Go with a 89-92 LX or GT witch ever you like better. I would go with the 5-speed but thats just me. Its alot more fun to shift your own gears.

I have a 93GT with a 14lb procharger and love it. But they changed the pistons in 93 so if I had to do it again I would have got a 92. Even though I have had no problems in the 9 years I owned it. Another thing if you like the GTs better get one. No point in getting an LX and later wishing you had a GT.

Alright man thanks... hopefully I can now find a GT. Where I live people eat Mustangs, they dont last very long on the market and I dont want to drive 200 miles just to go look at one and find out its jacked up.

Newnan is about 45 minutes from Alabama. I know the drive to Talladega wouldnt be that bad. Well I looked at the 93 Auto and it was junk. The kid had bought a 4 cylinder conversion to 5.0 and it needed some work so now he wanted to sell it. I'll just keep my eyes open.
