Default header question

my headers glow really red as hell and i"m not even pressing the gas, it's just on idle at 900 to 1000 rpm's , and plus the car is on jax stands right now . Why is that happing ? thanks

I have only seen some turbos do that. I think it has something to do with your timeing.

Red headers mean its getting hot you are running extremely lean. I would not run the car much till it is sorted out.

It's running lean and way too hot. I once forgot to put the main vacuum line back onto the upper intake and I let it idle for about 20 minutes when I realized my headers and cats were glowing red. Didn't hurt anything except the cats which rattled after that, still passed emissions fine though.

what changes did you do prior to this happening???? valve events is more than likely the culprit.. change the dizzy? cam? timing chain? sounds like valve timing off a few degrees.. not just the advance... actually valve events.. if its on jacks you been doing something... we need a bit more info to try to help better
