RE: green 8 pin?
Where the engine harness connects to the dash harness. I believe two of the wires go into the body harness. Fuel pump won't turn on without connecting it or bypassing it.
As for the wiring diagram, good luck. I've wired quite a few mustangs for 5.0 swaps & not one matched any wiring diagram I've seen. That one green connector was actually one of the ones that was different on almost every car i wired. It's been a while since i've done one, but I believe one wire goes through that to the inertia switch which was the reason why the car wouldn't start without it. I believe the neutral safety switch is on it aswell.
You may have to do what I do. From all the trouble I've had with body & dash harnesses, I never look at diagrams anymore. I take the dash off & follow the wires individually to find out where they go. If it goes into a cluster I pull on it until I see which wire is getting pulled through.
Wiring diagrams that i've found on the net & in haynes & chiltons are all only good for the engine harness. The color codes on them are nowhere close to matches to what's on the dash & body.
If you were local I would come do it for you.
Best help I could offer is you trace them & if you find something at one end that you don't know what it is or what it controls, take a pic & i'll let you know what it is.
Hope that helps.

RE: green 8 pin?
thx FoxGT i appreciate the help, i planned on removing all the wires from under the dash and refurbing them anyway now im having some trouble getting the grommet that is on the left side of the steering wheel out... I wanna remove some of the wires because half of them have been replaced by the painless kit, i dont like to see them just hanging around my engine compartment ya know, any tricks on how to remove theis grommet without cutting? and is there a way to reset an inertia switch? i may have done something to it because now my starter relay "trip" wire (the little one that switches it to hot) isnt putting out any volts.... or maybe its the clutch switch i need to look into....ugh i hate wires

Nice find joel
As for removing the gromet. I use a decent sized screwdriver & pry it out.
The inertia switch has a reset switch on it, but the only thing that has to do with is whether or not the fuel pump is coming on. The inertia switch is a safety switch to turn the fuel pump off in case you get in a wreck so it doesn't keep pumping out fuel (in case of a fire)
The starter relay has a neutral safety switch (auto) & clutch interlock switch (manual) Both wires are there, but one should be jumpered depending on the car. You could bypass both by running a wire from your starter solenoid to the small white/pink wire on your keyswitch.
