Default overkill on clutch for now?

A bit of background first: I'm having a 347 stroker built soon (DART 302 block, AFR185 heads, Holley intake, Jay Allen cam). Next will be a completely new rear end and also a new tranny (probably a TKO-600). Within the next year, a turbo kit will be going on, along with the necessary supporting mods (ignition system, ECU, fuel rails, etc).

With those plans in mind, I want to buy a clutch now that will handle the power to come, so I don't have to do it twice.
So, I'm trying to decide between the SPEC clutches: stage 2, 2+, 3 and 3+. Each one can handle more power than the previous one. The stage 3+ can support up to 800ft/lbs of torque. Possibly more than I will eventually have, but we'll see how my goals change as the car progresses.

Would it be detrimental to my car now if I were to get such a powerful clutch with the stock trans? I'm leaning towards getting a 3 or 3+ simply to cover my bases for the future.

Why SPEC? I've heard good things, and they have the variety and power capacity I'm looking for. I welcome other brand suggestions as well.

Thoughts?

just get a regular clutch now because the good TKO's run a 26 spline input shaft, and you have a 10 spline stock.

so you will end up buying a new clutch anyway when you swap trannies

Ive got a spec stage 3 and really like how it will not slip. ran it for a year and then upgraded the trans with astroperformance gears which uses a 26 spline disk.
I bought a new disk for $100.

not a fan of the spec clutches if you have a daily driver. they are either in or out and are stiff as hell. great clutch for the track, but if you drive it every day like i do i like the clutch masters its good to like 500 hp, however if your lookin to go 347 stroker with a turbo, you might not be worried bout daily drivin so much...

not bein negative, but hope you have some deep pockets with the setup you wanna run, sounds bad a$$ though!

haha, funny thing is, it will be my main car. Tho, I don't have a job that has me driving to the office every day. Either way, I'll deal with any discomfort with a smile... as I sit in my dream car.

And yeah, I know about the cost. But like I said, its my dream to build this car, so money isn't that much of concern.

And to prove I'm not just talking out my a$$...
