Edelbrock Top End Kit

RE: Edelbrock Top End Kit
Well, I mean, you might notice 2-5 HP on an engine dyno, but the valves still outflow the runners, so there really isn't any point for the bigger valves. On an engine such as a 302-311, the smaller valve should be just fine. I have them in my 347, and I would say they might be hurting the HP numbers just a little, but they will help the torque, and in a heavy *** car like mine, the torque numbers are just as, if not more, important than the HP. Overall I am happy with my engine, but mechanical secondaries would be better for the engine considering my stall converter and cam size.

was 85 the year that had flat tops, with no valve releifs?
if that is the case no. the stock pistions have to be notched as far as i know, b/c of the large intake valve, thats where the isky notching tool comes in.

I'm thinking of offering him 800-850 for heads, rockers and push rods

I have ran my car once. It was pretty cool, I ran a 9 flat (in the eighth) at 81 MPH. That sounds slow, but it is a second and a half better than with the 302 and also 20 MPH faster. However, I will be easily running in the low eights/ high sevens after I get the posi trac, the 3.55's, and the drag radials. I cannot floor it off the line right now because it will just spin one tire all the way down the track. I hope to get it in the low sevens, but that may require some go fast juice.
My cam specs are: Lift; Int: .555 Exh: .570, Advertised Duration; Int: 284 Exh: 291, Duration @ .050; Int: 238 Exh: 245, & 110 degrees of lobe separation. The thing sounds awesome. It is a Coast High Hydraulic Roller Retrofit cam. It allowed me to use late model roller lifters and retainer in an early model non roller block.
