Default timing???

It seems like my car needs to be further advanced in timing but where it is now, once it warms up it won't turn over. If I back it off it pops and with it advanced it is much more responsive but chugs/bucks while cruising around 2G or less. It also won't turn over with it advanced but the popping is gone. I still just have the stock computer untuned. Is this problem going to be cured with getting a custom tune or is there something else I can do to correct this?

set the timing to factory spec with a light and stop trying to guess at it cause you'll be way off if you do..and if cranking speed is the issue once it's warmed up you may have a bad starter and heat soak causing issue or bad battery and or voltage drop on a starter wire due to excessive resistance

yeah, sounds like you might be 180 off or a tooth off or something. Is thesetup your running the one in your sig?? did you just build it?? you did set the timing chain marks correctly??

If you did, bring the #1 piston up top by turning the crank with a wrench and have a screwdriver in the plug hole until you feel the piston stop moving at top and then look where the timing marks are on the balancer.

I just had to replace my balancer as it had slipped quite a bit and was throwing my timing WAY off...I guess this would only be pertinent to you if you re-used an older balancer.

yes the set up is the sig i have. Timing chains should be set properly. That came assembled. Has a new starter, just did the insulation wrap and it seems to be better. Is a high torgue starter anything I should look into? or is the stock one fine for this app? Also I did reuse an old balancer so maybe I will try a new one of those as well.
