Default hunting idle.

i have a problem i hve92 5.0 efi. i have an idle issue. when i turn on the car when its cold it idles fine a bit rough. when the engine reaches its operating temp it hunts for an idle. when i go to stop at a light and throw it into nuetral it shuts off and sometimes have to pop it into gear. i cleaned the iac with tb cleaner to see and it still did the same problem. has anybody else had this problem and how do i get rid of it.


92 hatchbck lx 5.0
65mm throttle body
edlebrock egr spacer
e-303 cam
bbk longtube headers
3.55 gears
bbk cold air intake(into fender well)

run a koer test and check for codes and if non exist look for vaccum leaks

look at any rubber hoses or the little plastic ones that or creacked or broke

i used to have that same problem, i just bumped up the idle so it runs at about 900 to 1000 at idle

check the condition of the hose from your upper plenum to the MAP sensor...if its at all dry rotted it can have pin holes in it...could possibly be the cause. mine was

I have that problem with mine... I cleaned out the IAC and the stalling stopped... it would stall only if I used 2nd gear to downshift, and then putting it into neutral right after that - then it would stall.....

ALSO.... If I drove a mile, turned the car off to get gas, and then upon starting it back up again - It would shut right off by itself.. I"d have to keep it running....

I noticed that you changed your throttle body,this might have thrown off your throttle position voltage. If that doesnt help try cleaning your mass air meter if you still have one.crc makes a good cleaner. Just a couple cheap ideas, good luck!
